RUSSIA WITH A NEW PLANT . . .
in the Moscow region, according to
Industrial Info Resources. This greenfield
manufacturing plant will produce poly-
mer emulsions for a number of markets,
including paint, coating materials and
adhesives. It will be closer to key cus-
tomers, with good access to local and
imported raw materials.
This is the company’s largest invest-
ment in Russia to date, and will be wholly-
owned by Rohm and Haas (Philadelphia,
PA). It will employ chemical engineers,
operators and administrative person-
nel. Initial production capacity will be
50,000-tpa, with a planned expansion to
70,000-tpa to meet the rapidly growing
demand for polymer emulsions.

the local domestic Russian market and
to the neighboring markets of Ukraine,
Byelorussia, Kazakhstan and the Baltic

Francois Mayer, director for the cen-
tral and eastern European and Turkish
markets.
